Keep Going: Lessons Learned on Ellen's show
Luckily, I had the chance to watch Ellen (aka The Ellen Degeneres Show) today. The last segment featured two guests and the host – all empowering stories of perserverance, hope, and inspiration!
Ellen had Justin Bieber and his new artist, Carly Rae Jepsen, on her show. All three individuals are examples that if you work hard, persist (or “Never Say Never”), follow your passion, overcome setbacks, and don’t let the critics take you off path: you can achieve your dream!
Each of these three celebrities had a different story and setbacks, but each let their times of struggle build their character and improve their inner strength. Most importantly, they haven’t let their setbacks change who they are.
Especially for Ellen and Justin, they are world-renowned celebrities; this means that all aspects of their lives are scrutinized by the media. Yet they persist to be positive role models; as Ellen says: “Let your haters be your motivators.” They don’t allow the critics to throw them off their path, or change who they are. Rather, they put a smile on their faces, keep being themselves, and show their love towards others. Each also has an amazing support system around them that helps them stay focused. Not only are they persisting, they are excelling in their areas, encouraging others to keep going, and showing people that they are not alone.
Justin had his new artist, Carly Rae Jepsen, on the show. She is a fellow Canadian; he had heard her on the radio, and he has now taken her under his wing. Carly Rae – keep up the amazing work! Her song, “Call Me Maybe,” has been in my head for months. I listen to it while I’m driving.
Thank you Ellen, Justin, and Carly Rae for inspiring others to be themselves, to keep going, to have fun and to Never Say Never! There is hope for everyone. Thanks for the reminder. I will keep going on the path I am on.
What great life lessons. On that note, have a great weekend everyone!
